Easy Oven-Baked Salmon
Delicious, Easy, & Healthy Oven-Baked Salmon
What makes salmon a perfect food in recovery? You guessed right :) - Omega-3s! These healthy fatty acids are absolutely essential for proper functioning of our immune system, and affect our thinking and moods.
My clients find that this recipe saves them a lot of time by providing meal options for several days. Cool what you don’t eat, and keep in the fridge for easy meal planning on the go. Try it with lightly cooked greens with your evening meal, salad and grains for lunch, stuffed into fresh corn tacos for dinner, or on top of rye toast - with egg and avocado - for breakfast.
The Recipe
Serves 4 (or 3-4 meals for 1)
INGREDIENTS
1 lb salmon fillet cut into 4 servings
Sea salt
TOOLS
Baking sheet
Directions
Preheat the oven to 450°F
Drizzle the fish with a little sesame oil, and sprinkle with sea salt
Bake until salmon is cooked through, about 12-15 minutes
Garnish with your favorite herbs
NOTES
If possible, buy wild-caught salmon from sustainable fisheries, or “best choice” farmed salmon. Both are more nutritious, raised without chemicals and dyes, and impact the environment less than ordinary farmed salmon.
Salmon is delicious all by itself, but I like to garnish it with chopped dill and lemon, or fresh ground peppercorns and cilantro for extra flavor.
I’d love to know about your favorite meal combinations for leftover salmon. How about your frequent go-to seasonings? Please share in the comments :)
I would love to hear your thoughts!
